Services: Adding, Categorizing, and Unpublishing Services

Services are the foundation of customer bookings — clear setup reduces back-and-forth. You can add, edit, categorize, or unpublish services at any time without affecting confirmed bookings.

Adding a Service

Steps: Settings → Services → Tap "+ Add Service"

Each service requires the following information:

Field Description
Service name The name shown to customers — keep it clear and concise
Duration The time slot reserved when a customer books this service
Price Displayed on your store page — can be a fixed price or "starting from"
Description Optional — add details or notes about the service
Service Type Required — select the closest matching category to help customers find your service in search
Menu Category Optional — a grouping shown on your store page; organize however you like
"Add Service" form showing a service name field (filled with "Precision Haircut"), duration selector (set to "60 minutes"), price field (filled with "from $60"), description field (filled with "Includes wash, cut, and blow-dry"), service type dropdown (set to "Haircut"), and a "Save" button at the bottom.

Service Type

Your service can have a creative or unique name, but the platform needs to know which established service category it most closely matches — this helps search engines surface it correctly.

Assigning a Service Type

When adding or editing a service, select the closest match in the "Service Type" field. Each service can only have one service type.

Menu Category

Menu categories make your service list easier to scan, and help customers find what they're looking for.

Creating Menu Categories

Steps: Settings → Services → Enter "Menu Category" → Separate with Enter → Save

Category examples: Haircut, Color, Treatment, Styling

Reordering Services

The order services appear in your list is the order customers see on your store page. Press and hold the drag handle (six-dot icon) on the left of a service name to reorder.

Services management page showing "Haircut", "Color", and "Treatment" entries. Each row has a drag handle (six-dot icon) on the left and an edit icon on the right. The first item, "Haircut", is being dragged and shown semi-transparent above its original position.

Unpublishing a Service

When a service is unpublished, customers won't see it on your store page and can't book it. Confirmed bookings are not affected.

Steps: Settings → Services → Select service → Toggle the "Published / Unpublished" switch

Service list where each row has a settings button on the right. "Precision Haircut" has its toggle on (pink), while "Limited-Time Perm Package" has its toggle off (grey) with an "Unpublished" label beside it.

Tip: For seasonal or temporarily paused services, unpublish rather than delete — the data is preserved so you can republish later.

FAQ

Will updating a service change existing bookings?

No. Changes to a service's name, price, or duration only apply to future bookings. Existing confirmed bookings keep their original settings.

What's the difference between unpublishing and deleting a service?

  • Unpublish: The service is hidden from customers but the data is kept — you can republish anytime
  • Delete: The service is permanently removed. Booking history is retained, but the service itself cannot be restored.

Can I set bookable hours for individual services?

Individual services don't support their own availability settings — overall availability is managed through the calendar. → Calendar Management
