A hybrid set is a gel base built up under colour, sitting somewhere between a plain polish and a full extension. It keeps its finish for weeks rather than days, and because the term covers a range of methods, two salons advertising it may not do quite the same thing. Asking what a shop includes is worth the phone call.

In Hong Kong the supply is genuinely thin. Glow360 lists 11 salons offering hybrid nails across the whole territory, which is a short enough list to read end to end. Every one of them has been rated, and the set averages 4.5.

That average hides a wide spread. J Neko Nail in Kwun Tong and N's nail, also in Kwun Tong, both show 5.00, but the first has 86 reviews behind it and the second has one. Ooh La La NAILS in Wan Chai holds 4.80 across 276 reviews, the deepest review history on the list by some distance. Soulsister Nail is at 4.90 from 33, pikapika the nail parlour at 4.80 from 19, and Nail it! Tokyo OP MALL in Tsuen Wan sits lowest at 4.20 from 26. On a list this short, the review count is the more useful column.

Geographically the salons fall into three pockets. Wan Chai has the most, with three of the six shops shown here. Kwun Tong accounts for two more, giving Kowloon East a small cluster. Tsuen Wan has the single New Territories option, so anyone north or west of the harbour has very little choice nearby and will likely travel for it.
