The 59 Tattoo

I only had 10 days in HK and wanted something special to celebrate a milestone birthday. Because of this I only wanted to be tattooed by Marcus Yuen who is a true master of the traditional HK style. Despite only having 1 day available, Marcus was able to draw a perfect design for me and get the whole thing done in 10 hours. His laid back studio is from another era, decorated with vintage cameras and relaxing jazz music making you feel at ease. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. As for the tattoo itself, it defied any expectations I had. Marcus is a true artist keeping traditional HK art alive. If you want a traditional HK tattoo, 59 Tattoo is the only place to go. Had the pleasure of working with Marcus back in October. I was visiting from the States with only one day in HK, and he made sure to finish my large tattoo in one session: he is SO fast and his work is incredibly clean and sharp. I absolutely love how my tattoo turned out, and would go back in a heartbeat. The shop is tidy with a very cool vibe. Highly recommend!

Cool shop with great atmosphere. Walked in without an appointment and met Ryan. First time getting a tattoo and he’s very talented and helpful throughout the process. Definitely recommend! Will come back for more!

Have had a couple great experiences with Marcus over the years. He has done two big pieces for me and I couldn’t be happier. Very professional, with a super chill vibe that you can feel around the shop. Will visit again next time I’m back in Hong Kong.
