A consultation is the conversation that happens before any cutting or colour. The best-reviewed entries are spread across the island rather than gathered in one place. Stay B | Hair Salon JB | Komtar JBCC Hair Salon has the most reviews on this page at 3,121, but its address is in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, not Singapore. Tanjong Pagar carries HAIR STUDIO FLAMINGO on Neil Road, with 1,483 reviews, along with Blush @ Orchard on Orchard Road at 591. Jalan Besar holds Jo:Hwa Hair & Living at the Capitol and Lovely Beauty Hair on Buffalo Road. Further east, Tampines has Bio Organicare Hair Care Centre in Century Square, whose listing name points at scalp condition rather than styling, which is a different sort of consultation from a cut-and-colour discussion.

One practical limit worth knowing before you start calling around: the listings do not publish what a consultation costs, and salons treat the fee differently. Ask when you get in touch, and ask whether it comes off the price of the service if you book on the day.
