This is like the biggest public gym in Singapore. It overlooks the pools at Toa Payoh and you sometimes see swimmers, divers, synchronise swimmers train. I will miss it when they tear down the sports building to make way for a new sports venue. Most gym goers here are polite, willing to share equipments and mind their own business. Closes 31 Oct 2023
New gym as of 18th March which shifted next to the swimming complex. They just renovated and replaced all the old machines with new ones in November 2018. The stepper, running and cycling machines now have a TV screen to simulate you running across various landscapes. The assortment of new machines will need getting used to, will recommend asking the trainers there for help. The new machines for training legs are better than the previous ones. There is a dance studio inside the gym. They also set aside a section for special needs and rehabilitation people to train with hydraulic machines. A playground for young kids, a table area for students to use their laptops. Only no food or drinks sold. Gym is located on the second floor up a flight of steps. Have to tap in and pay before getting in.
From one of the smallest to one of the biggest ActiveSG gym. A great gym overall. Very spacious with lots of equipment. But the changing room is small. Looks like there will be major redevelopment of the whole toa payoh sports complex including the swimming pool and stadium. Looking forward to it. But also mean this place might be torn down soon. Enjoy it while you can!
Checked out the gym on 31/10/2023. Like the gym as it is pretty empty around noon time. On the way out, i saw this sign. Glad didn't try to check it out on a day after 31/10/2023.
