So to set the stage, I was a Canadian fellow strolling about the Central district in HK. Suddenly, a stranger approaches me, says hello and comments on wanting to clean up my understandably out of control beard. Given the vacation vibe, I take him up on his offer. Once I arrive, we both realize that we grew up in the same part of Canada and we spend time telling stories to each other throughout my session. To not make this a novel, James cuts hair how my curly and thick beard needs it: With a machine and delicious precision. He instantly saw my jaw line and shaped everything in a way I haven't had in years (I've gone through a lot of barbers without finding the right one). If I could add another 5 stars I would. Vibe, dynamic, service and experience were all beyond 5 stars. A bitter note here is that my new favourite barber is a 15 hour flight away.

I walked out feeling great about my cut, confident that it suits me, and ready to book again. If you're looking for a barber who listens, guides you, and takes pride in their work, James is your guy.

I got my haircut at Bully Fades the second time and will continue to come to get a Fresh, Clean and Satisfying cut by James. The atmosphere is always just full on good vibes, being able to catch up with James and meeting other people as well. I highly recommend others to try Bully Fades by James Hov. You won’t regret it. James is very down to earth and he knows his stuff! My husband and I are currently visiting hk and were nervous about finding a good barber who cuts afro hair. James did an amazing job and he will definitely be my husband’s go-to whenever we are in town!

Day before my wedding and I am stressed. My tailor needed to make adjustments to my suit still, so was in panic mode. My last port of call, going to the barber. I was recommended James by a friend and am glad I went. Super chill vibe in the studio, good chat and a nice beer to quench the thirst.
