ActiveSG Gym at Toa Payoh West Market

Temp gym while TPY integrated devt is being built. Surprising how ActiveSG decked it out. Very spacious. Full of equipments. Toilets are nice with hot water. Parking next to it and as are wet market and kopi tiams. Can be very packed during peak hours. However hygiene of gym equipment is not so good because many gym users don't bother to wipe down. Cleaner does a superficially wipe, lasting 1 to 2 second per machine. Unlike the Toa Payoh West CC gym, there's no more alcohol spray with wiping brush, replaced instead with reams of wet wipes. Quite unhappy with the non environmentally friendly alternative.

This gym is super spacious! Has about 10 treadmills. There's special equipment like kettle bell, plyometric boxes and battling ropes. At the dumbell area, there are 6 dumbbell bench press.

Newly built and opened on 2024, all equipment are new and modern. They even have specific equipment for the differently-abled, which is very considerate. Right beside it will be the covered courts which is great. For first timers, remember to bring your own towel, water bottle, and the ActiveSG gym pass qr code (phone or printout).

My new favorite ActiveSG gym. Water pressure in shower rooms are excellent. No crowd at gym between 11:00a and 3:00p on weekdays. It provides sufficient sets free weight and benches. Gym staff are polite and helpful, which is sooo refreshing when compared to staff at many other ActiveSG gyms such as Delta. There is a old time hawker center right across from the gym - good place for lunch until about 1:30p.
