THK Children's Therapy Space @ MacPherson

THK Children’s Therapy Space @ MacPherson is a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow, learn and thrive, supported by AHPC‑certified paediatric therapists. Part of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities’ network of Children’s Therapy Spaces, it offers centre‑based and school‑based Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, delivered in individual and group sessions for children with developmental delays and disorders, and socio‑emotional and learning difficulties. The team is highly experienced and passionate, with specialisation in neurological rehabilitation and rare diseases, and also provides home therapy and family empowerment for children with complex medical needs. Speech Language Therapy supports language understanding and expression, speech production, voice use, stuttering, feeding and swallowing, social skills and literacy. Occupational Therapy helps children participate meaningfully at home, in school and in the community, building self‑help skills such as toileting, dressing and feeding, alongside play, social skills, writing, self‑regulation, emotional regulation, sensory processing and postural motor control. Physiotherapy focuses on gross motor development and supports conditions including gross and global developmental delay, congenital orthopaedic conditions such as torticollis and clubfoot, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, acquired or traumatic brain injury, and genetic conditions such as Down syndrome. A distinctive feature is THK’s Speech Language Therapy Student Clinic — the first of its kind in Singapore — offering supervised, reduced‑fee assessments and therapy for toddlers, preschoolers and youths under 18. Led by student therapists under the close supervision of AHPC‑certified and experienced Clinical Educators, children receive the same high standard of care as with a fully qualified Speech Language Therapist. From 1 September 2024, the centres are known as THK Children’s Therapy Space @ MacPherson and THK Children’s Therapy Space @ Queenstown, reflecting a broader, family‑centred approach. Services extend beyond the centres to provide direct therapy in everyday settings — including schools, homes and public spaces — for integrated, tailored support where children and families live and learn.
