This was my first time getting a gel pedicure at this nail salon, and I must say, it was the best experience I’ve ever had at any nail salon. No hard selling—everything was straightforward, and I got exactly what I asked for and more. The nail technician (I regret not getting her name) was highly professional and extremely careful when I mentioned my injured toe, ensuring I felt no discomfort throughout the process. I also appreciated that there was no pressure to purchase additional services, and their stamp card system is a great bonus for loyal customers. In contrast, my past experiences at a nail salon in Plaza Singapura were stressful, with constant pressure to buy packages and unreasonable charges. At The Nailist, everything is transparent and upfront. I’m so glad I found this salon, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
I've been going to Nailist for years because of the convenience. I love that I can walk in anytime without needing an advanced booking, and the staff have always been courteous. Before COVID, they even served tea, which was a nice touch. One thing I appreciate is that they never hard-sell packages or services, which makes the experience much more relaxing. You can just go in, get your nails done, and enjoy the service without feeling pressured to spend more. That said, their prices tend to be on the higher side, and they increase even more before Chinese New Year due to a surcharge. I wish they would make this clearer to clients by displaying a pricing board or some form of notice. While I appreciate their reliable service, more transparency in pricing would be helpful.
I made an appointment in-person a day before visiting (but you can call their number too). Staff was very efficient and I was in and out with fresh gel manicure within an hour. 10AM is their first appointment slot and there were few customers there despite it being a Sunday. I know that the place is usually packed or fully booked in the evening. Service was good and meticulous. Staff (unfortunately did not get her name) was very proficient in her craft and I appreciated that there weren't any forced conversations (which can be rather daunting for some). Costs for their classic mani/padi are transparent and included GST from the get-go so you know what you will have to pay even before starting. The staff has never tried to hard sell any products nor services.
Just giving a heads-up that the surcharge is a lot during CNY and it lasts for about a week. IMO it's better if they can waive off the price of gel removal, especially if regulars have been doing their nails there. I'm a regular and I get my nails done there every month, but I still need to pay separately for gel removal.
