I was always hesitant about visiting a therapist, but my husband encouraged me to give it a try. While searching online, we came across Carol, and I’m so grateful we did. Opening up to strangers has never been easy for me, but Carol’s warm and compassionate demeanor made me feel safe and comfortable from the start. Throughout this journey, Carol has been an incredible support. She listened without judgment, guided me with care, and helped me process and heal from the traumas I had carried for so long. Each session felt like a step forward, and I genuinely looked forward to our time together. Thanks to her guidance, I’m now in a much better place—stronger, more confident, and at peace. I cannot thank Carol enough for the impact she’s had on my life. If you’re considering starting therapy, I wholeheartedly recommend her. She’s truly exceptional.
Carol has been a great help in giving me tools to deal with emotional triggers, uncovering the cause of those triggers from past experiences in life and helping me reframe the negative beliefs and narratives I carried from those experiences. Ever since working with her, I've noticed a significant reduction in trigger episode, reduced feelings of despair and now have a more upbeat, calm and positive outlook on life! I love her guiding approach and emphasis on equipping with tools and resources so that there is true progress made with each session. Highly recommend!
After several years of on and off therapy with different counsellors, I still felt very much stuck. Common talk therapy techniques like CBT were helpful to a certain extent but there was a prevailing sense that even though I had greater insight into my presenting issues and understood them on a cognitive level, I hadn’t “gotten to the bottom of things” and could not surmount whatever I was facing on an emotional level. I hit my lowest point last year and this was the catalyst that brought me to Emotional Wellness centre. My then psychiatrist recommended giving EMDR a go. Due to his advice and my husband’s encouragement to search for a trauma-informed therapist, I decided to see Carol. I had a very limited understanding of EMDR at the time but was desperate to alleviate the emotional turmoil and pain. I’m so glad I decided to trust the process and the methods Carol employs (EMDR, schema therapy, bibliography). Carol is a lot more candid and casual as compared to my previous therapists. This admittedly took some getting used to but talking to her feels like confiding in a caring aunt who affirms my experiences and feelings. Her relatively assertive style is what I needed in a period of my life where I was feeling extremely lost and fearful of the future. The weekly guidance and reassurance I received from Carol during this time was a much needed salve for my anxiety and felt like an anchor that prevented me from drifting out into treacherous waters. What I find to be really beneficial about our sessions is that Carol does not just focus on my presenting issues but processing the past in a structured and chronological way. Revisiting all the memories/experiences that made indelible marks on me and addressing the deep-seated narratives and beliefs I hold/held has been such an empowering and cathartic journey. It’s as if a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders & I felt lighter after each session. Processing really helped me to see myself wholly without all the shame and self-deprecation. It was like looking at myself in the mirror with acceptance for maybe the first time in my life. This is what I think made all the difference to my healing & I’m currently a lot more at peace with my situation.
Before meeting Carol, I was drowned in a sea of my own thoughts. Overthinking and anxiety were with me constantly, clouding my judgment and paralyzing me to find the right answer for myself. I desperately needed a lifeline. It was the best decision to meet Carol. Rather than helping me fix my immediate problem, Carol tried to unpacked my experiences from childhood until present in order to really understand the root cause. With multiple problems at hand, Carol took time to process each problem one by one and get me through the process of healing. This makes me feel confident and feel certain that if I have any problems in the future, I will be able to rely on myself because I’m proud of who I am and I will get through the problems. On top of helping me navigate the problems, Carol helped me discover my strength that I didn’t know existed. This has been really helpful since I decided to focus my effort in strengthening and refining the skill through hobby and also apply it to my work as well. Also, Carol helped me represent myself in the best way during important moments in my career. It is really hard for anyone to overcome hardship or trauma, but Carol really helped me see things in different perspectives and at least shed some light on positive things that came out of the negative events. Meeting Carol is one of the most important pivotal moments in my life. I highly recommend you to take time to talk to her and heal yourself through her expertise.
I thank Carol for being patient with me as I learnt to give Carol a chance and trust her with her expertise. Before meeting Carol, I had sought therapy from other counsellors. However, their methods were unhelpful. Others skirted around the traumas when they finally surfaced and also gave me the impression that they were more interested to earn my money than to prioritize my well-being and see it healed. Hence, meeting Carol has been a huge relief for me as I am grateful to finally meet a counsellor who believes in resolving traumas at their roots and actually does it. Carol is truly sincere about seeing my emotional and psychological well-being healed and prosper and I appreciate her professionalism and sincerity. Carol is trustworthy, saying what she means and means what she says. Since April this year, I started going to Carol for therapy as I was struggling with PTSD with dissociation. It is currently June and I am grateful for the progress that I am making thus far where I see myself dissociate less, grow in perseverance, experience my thought process transformed from negative to positive, and become more empowered to confront the traumas that have affected me since childhood. Carol is very positive, gentle, encouraging, and determined to help me to resolve the traumas at their roots. During our sessions together, Carol mainly uses Schema, a therapy technique that she believes in strongly, and EMDR to address the traumas that surface and we persistently tackle the traumas that surface at the roots till they are resolved. As we resolve these traumas together, I am also grateful that Carol helps me, as a young adult, to see situations in life from both a positive and a mature perspective. Personally, confronting these traumas has been a messy yet fulfilling journey for me as I learn to face my “giants” and I realise that I am victorious when they are finally resolved. I am excited to come off medication and come out the other side healed, empowered, with a healthy and positive perspective of life, and be at peace with myself. If you are reading this and thinking of resolving your traumas, other complex emotional or psychological issues, know that it can be a complex and painful journey yet in the long haul it is very rewarding and fulfilling as you finally break free from past traumas that have held you captive and in bondage for a long time. I recommend that you visit Carol and allow her to journey alongside you through your healing process just as Carol has been journeying with me through mine :) Carol’s office is bright and filled with positive images and messages around, making me feel comfortable and comforted whenever I’m there.
